Maybe I need to spell that out a little more: People create new handles with single-idea brands because the market expects and responds to that The market loves to pigeonhole everyone That'll drive any creator with any depth or explorative curiosity mad very quickly... so they create accounts dedicated to one overly simplified idea and the market celebrates it. Then they inevitably get sick of doing the same thing over and over and move on...

My sentiments exactly, thanks for bringing this to light 👍 That's why I've been creating separate handles on BitClout, as I've been told I should stick to more specific niches (including an art marketing specialist whose services I paid a pretty penny for). Frustrating for me, but I do understand the flip side of the coin. Many people want to buy art they can identify with, so if they discovered me in the first place looking for pretty landscapes, they could get turned off by my grittier or more abstract photos. I couldn't really blame them either.

I struggle enormously with this @KAD account… I worry about pigeonholing myself as a photography guy when I’m working on so many different projects… but at the same time I know I’m suffering because I haven’t chosen an area of focus and the market doesn’t know what to make of me or what I’m really about… even if someone attentively followed my posts they wouldn’t really see what I’m about at this point— but in a sea of noise I can only imagine how low-res any given user’s perception of “my brand” would be

I struggle with the same issues and still trying to figure them out, so not much else I can say to help. I really like your aerial photos though, that's something I look forward to in your posts 👍🙂

I’m a handle squatter myself, if I think of an idea or a great handle I might want to use someday I grab it. I started doing that back when it cost $120 or a new phone number in Bitcoin just to make an account… so I feel absolutely no hesitation in grabbing a great handle when I think of one now that they cost 10 cents @mp3 and @nametrade can prob relate… and a lot of other legit users I don’t really market the handles until I’m using them for something, but as far as just grabbing handles for potential future use goes— I’m pretty shameless about that, I create tons of handles that I’ll either use or offer to someone else down the road

Maybe there are more elegant mechanisms (and certainly room for more honestly) acknowledging that most projects and accounts won't last more than a few months. Case in point the majority of PFP NFT series on here. It's OK to admit it - we're going to move on from 99.9% of them. In those scenarios, the creator coin really isn't a valuable structure - it's just a bonding curve people pile into assuming they won't be the last ones out.\n\nOne reason this matters more than short-term gains and losses is the amount of $clout that will be forgotten and lost in stranded assets.          Body: "Something I've been thinking about a lot is how every new creator or account on BitClout is automatically assumed to be a perpetual endeavor / going concern ♾️.\n\nJust because the blockchain is forever doesn't mean every project should be. Maybe there are more elegant mechanisms (and certainly room for more honestly) acknowledging that most projects and accounts won't last more than a few months. Case in point the majority of PFP NFT series on here. It's OK to admit it - we're going to move on from 99.9% of them. In those scenarios, the creator coin really isn't a valuable structure - it's just a bonding curve people pile into assuming they won't be the last ones out.\n\nOne reason this matters more than short-term gains and losses is the amount of $clout that will be forgotten and lost in stranded assets. Could eventually be at the scale where it messes with the original vision for total supply and becomes so deflationary that velocity is hampered.\n\nI think when someone like Vitalik notes he disagrees with the economics on here, part of the reason he says so is also because the bonding curves are so steep that they incentivize making new accounts as the #1 economic behavior. \n\nIt's also just exhausting to keep up with 😂 \n\nI'm no saint in all this, just wonder what a better path looks like ✨.
