so developers who use DeSo Identity are accepting that the included terms of service (it’s there but you can only find it when you are getting a new seed phrase- just hit next and look at the TOS, it doesn’t hurt anything to get a new seed phrase and not use it) will be their own TOS. i assume this is known by anyone using it, though the docs don’t expressly state this.
but:
1) the TOS is barely enforced it seems? 18+, yet there are accounts for children at least as young as 9 years old accessible on bitclout.com and diamondApp.com (I guess hopefully scammers, but how do you know when the bios just say the age), I brought this up a week ago.
2) how does the TOS work if the content is coming from the blockchain? does the TOS only apply to a person directly using the app, and not to a person whose data is making its way into the app by other means? it will appear as if those people used the app to anyone on the outside.
how are other devs dealing with this kind of data existing in the blockchain? i know the bigger apps that are coming have things in place, such as using machine learning to recognize problem content and hide it automatically. but for independent devs just using a backend API, when the node isn’t applying their own TOS (and I’m not sure that even if a node bans a user that it blocks that user’s data from being returned by the API but hopefully it does?), has anyone figured out any type of solution in order to remain compliant with laws?
i mentioned COPPA last week but hadn’t realized there were actually profiles for children under 13 when i had posted it, when i had noticed it i tried getting in touch with someone to understand what was going on, but haven’t heard anything since last weekend.
it is really crappy btw. we all know some of this stuff and i am pretty new, what exactly is going on. come on. it makes me feel awful. if somehow magically things are different here than on YouTube and Facebook and Twitter and every other place.. well, i don’t really know what the argument there could be.
curious to hear what other people may have come up with. or if people think we are exempt from these things, i would love to know how.

i see all of you use DeSo Identity (or Bitclout Identity, some still use the old one). do you not dislike that you're having to use the Identity TOS which was last updated november 2020 (except for a replace from clout to deso, which didn't get a date update i guess)?
i mean the TOS prohibits portraying deso as any kind of investment. maybe @bithunt doesn't technically do that? i don't know. says 18+ though that's never been enforced by deso on its own sites.
where did you learn that Identity had a TOS in it and that it's an implied agreement (maybe? that's what i've been told) that you will use that TOS by choosing to use Identity?
hoping to get some clarity from deso soon but i would like to hear from people who've been using Identity for a while
