Board members would handle the direction that SHU would operate. They didn't do any scam hunting. There'd be code of conduct, registers, education. Pooling of information, getting scam hunters and the community working together. There was a 5, 6 phase plan of implementation. The idea, to protect and educate the community and to phase out the cowboys who do falsely accuse, act inappropriately. Also registered scam hunters would be known to SHU, for verification, so while many would operate anonymously under a name like ScamSeeker, if any continually did false accusations, or whatever, they wouldn't be a registered scam hunter.
The problem with "see something, say something" it still has those same issues. False accusations, bullying, acting inappropriately.

I would walk away, it would then belong to the community) but still call out a thief/scammer of I see one. Anyway... that's just my opinion. It's irrelevant now. Lol.

the issue is that anyone "going after scammers" in any organized or purposeful way has self-elected themselves to be the police. reporting isn't doing any good? maybe the platform is the problem, not the people you consider scammers. doesn't matter how annoying it is that people "in charge" aren't helping, it doesn't give anyone the right to decide what is right and wrong for everyone else. we have a "code of law" here and everything is explicitly stated.
the TOS says no one is doing anything wrong when they do what anyone calls a "rug pull." it's fully within any user's rights to do it.
no one has any expectation of profit when you contribute to a creator or a DAO, or purchase an NFT- that's it, the money is gone until it isn't. no one is acquiring any of these coins with the intent to sell them. (so sayeth these terms of service)
if someone is breaking TOS- by selling copyrighted materials, by being under 18, by portraying any of these coins as an investment- all you can do is report it. if it's a matter of law, you don't have to report it to the platform, you can report it to actual authorities wherever you live. real police, the FCC, the SEC - they all have ways for people to report things to them.
absolutely, if you see someone breaking TOS, mention it. we all have the right to speak here. but we as users of the platform are not the ones to enforce the TOS. instead of getting angry at the people breaking TOS, get angry at the platform.
and if they aren't breaking TOS, which a rug puller is not (at least not simply by definition; it's possible they can break the law in order to rug pull, but rug pulling in and of itself is not against TOS), there's nothing to say at all.
for instance, i was never angry at any children or people under 18 for having accounts here. i wouldn't hound any child's account and tell them they don't belong here and to get out. yet they ARE breaking the TOS. someone who intends to rug pull isn't breaking TOS, so it's especially unreasonable to go after them. make a post about it, talk about it, but don't harass the person.

this post is meant to bring attention yet again to the problems with the DESO TOS. i'm not trying to say that anything you or anyone else has done to try to eliminate scammers was wrong in any way. but i did write this post the way that i did to try to help get across the point that if any organizing is happening to deal with perceived problems, it should be directed towards the platform first-

and if it's that the platform is new and these things will come, well, then we just have to deal with everything in the meantime. or form a DESO DAO somehow where every user is a part of it and can vote on things, like if we want to appoint anyone as a scam hunter.

Umm.. okay. Lol. You night have noticed that I basically said I don't really do it anymore, and maybe you've seen, or not.. 🤷♂️ that I am vocal about the platform being the problem. I've seen your posts about regards the TOS and much like any other post that is trying to raise an issue. It gets ignored or called negative.
I do have a question. So the TOS ( which I do agree with what you said on one hand, but on the other hand, TOS is not ever going to dictate my moral compass) doesn't mention rugpulling so that means technically they aren't doing anything wrong.
Does it mention scam hunting at all? Or calling them out? Or art thieves?
If not.. then those that are scam hunters, technically aren't doing anything wrong either. So why is it on you to attack them? And post about them?
Just a thought. I don't really care either way anymore. Lol. But if it does say something, maybe I should read the TOS. But really, if I have to read that boring assed shit, that is fill of rubbish anyway, I'd rather leave the platform. Lol.

i wasn't directing my post specifically at your one comment or at you, it was just continuing a general discussion about the concept of going after scammers. sorry if it came across as directed to you. i left your comment a comment, that's in response to your comment. :D
so - i'm not sure if you read the whole post, because i never said scam hunting should be prohibited or was against the rules or anything like that. these are things that i did say:

Nah, you're good mate. It is very easy to misinterpret text when it forms less than 15% of how we communicate as humans. It wasn't meant as a gotcha. Mire a cheeky wink. We're human, well, most of us. I'm part human, part bot. And as humans, we misinterpret, we have triggers, we make mistakes, we get emotional, we change our minds, we do the right thing and the wrong thing. And every bit of that, not only is okay, but everyone reacts and acts differently to. We're crossing cultures, industries, and attempting to innovate, create and be a part of a new world. We do need to be kinder to each other and ourselves, while on this journey to a new and hopefully better world.
While it's looking bleak nearly everywhere we turn, its always the darkest before the dawn.

I will say, whenever I post something, and you're unsure how I mean it. Rule of thumb.
If you can take what I've said on 2 or more ways because it's ambiguous. If One of those ways upsets/angers you, another way makes you laugh/smile because I'm either being silly or funny. it's always the make you laugh or smile.
I don’t deliberately set out to piss people off or upset them.
If I'm pissed off, you'll know, lol.
Or it'll be just me expressing my thoughts. I'll listen to other people's opinions. Consider them. Accept the conflicting opinion and adjust mine if theirs has merit. Or reject them and keep my own. But, unless the other persons opinion is steeped in sheer stupidity or hate, I won't say you're wrong. Especially if, in cases like this, you are far more knowledgeable than I.

now, i have 100% in the past pointed out stolen artwork. i've DM'd people to warn them. one time i actually quote reposted someone who was selling stolen artwork, i think only one time, but i wouldn't be shocked if i did it more than once.
it's been a while, but i certainly wasn't looking for people selling stolen artwork at the time either. i just saw something, and said something.

you're kinda putting words in my mouth here, and calling me a hypocrite, which i don't appreciate.
i said "looks awkward", "people might be interested", "had a bad feeling", i definitely call him out for nasty comments he wrote to me because that's shitty behavior unrelated to any claim of scamming, i present a hypothetical statement about a hero creating villains, "anyway, no judgments, i dunno what the deal is, but some very strange stuff that a scam hunter himself would surely deem worthy of investigation."
my opinion bleeds through the words, sure, but my opinion is only that and never do i make any accusations. i let his words do the talking, but it's up to the reader to make their own interpretation.
