i am not going to put my FR to 0% like i see people have tried to persuade others to do, because this seems like a great way to lose money for my existing hodlers. someone buys in when it is at 0% because then they expect others to buy in, and then they can sell immediately and take money out of the coin, and they had less risk going in because of the FR at 0%. it makes the possibility of messing with my coin hodlers much less risky for someone.
my current hodlers who got in with the current FR and with $DeSo lower than when they got in would need much more to happen to want to sell my coin, so the new buyer is not that worried that their buy-in would trigger a sell-off from existing hodlers.
am i missing something in this?
i have never taken $DeSo out of the system and i am sure that is verifiable, so it cannot be a question of thinking i would be interested in taking the FR out of the ecosystem. so does the person desiring 0% not believe in $DeSo in general or do they think they deserve better than everyone who already has bought in? or do they think they are really doing something benevolent?

all of this being said, and i will say a little more in this post, if you are someone wanting to buy a very large amount of $kitty4D, and you want to discuss FR ahead of time- you can message me. if you would become the largest investor with your buy-in, then of course i am not silly. but i cannot believe that someone wanting to invest a large amount in me would trust investing in me if i simply went to 0% to all buyers because of a holiday or special occasion or because everyone else is doing it.
if i were looking for a creator coin to invest in, i would choose a coin from a person that looks out for the interests of their hodlers.
i do understand that it costs more to get the same amount of my coin as existing hodlers, that is the way it works. if you had believed in me when they did, you would have had that chance. that is their reward.
i'll treat you as well as i treat them, and i reinvest into myself to help keep my coin steady for you as i did for them. i am interested in lowering your risk, also, because it is good for all of $kitty4D.
but of course as my first paragraph says, i wish to do the best by all hodlers- and a large investor coming in and wanting to negotiate my FR ahead of time could very well be in all of our best interests.

Why do you assume that someone buying at 0% is going to immediately sell? I don’t think there are that many hard core traders here that go that deep. 0% FR is just a tradition we do on special occasions. The 0% buyers have the same benefit as your investors that are in the green on your coin. Anyone who holds long enough will be in the green eventually if your coin goes up. People can play short term trading games if they want but on the flip side you want long term HODLers so it’s a good test to weed out the short term investors. If one of your investors is afraid of new investors coming in at a 0% FR, they not one of your 💎✋ anyways.

It doesn't matter long term/short term, you want a low entry price regardless? You could have your FR at 50% and a short term trader sees something big happening where they think you are going to suddenly spike and do the same thing they would normally do if you were at 0%.

and then how does the creator ever earn anything from creating?
we have a limited number of our own coins. we buy a certain amount of our own coins in hopes to keep it as stable as possible. no one can make a living selling their creator coin indefinitely because it would run out and the money they have earned being used to buy back in doesn't make sense.
obviously i am a long way away from even hoping to earn from this, but.. i am doing a lot of work and would like to one day!

Yeah, you can't sell your coin either because you will be accused of rug pulling. You only gain from the popularity you get from your coin price + the FR you receive. I'm glad we have diamonds and NFTs as well because I'm not sold on the coins idea myself.

to follow up, none of my coinhodlers has ever said anything to me about what to do, though i have told almost everyone directly that i am always happy to hear advice or suggestions from a coinhodler. i didn't consult with anyone about it because i never considered going to 0% for any and all buyers.
it's because i think most of my hodlers are diamond hands that i look out for their interests. someone who believes in my coin and would also be a diamond hand would not require a 0% FR or would be happy to write me to discuss it ahead of time.

If you change your FR then yes, 2 versions of you, one with lower FR, one with higher. You are the 2 lamps in the store and I would say it doesn't matter if a buyer is short term or long term, they are going to like the lower price over the higher. That's my point.

sorry - the other way to make money is with nfts. this is why i create little nfts here and there with low prices. if someone likes my content and wants to give me a tip, they can be nice and buy one. (and i have 10% going to hodlers, 5% to me on them, which i don't fully understand yet but that's ok)
@cloutfanz does have a tip system but people see my content for CC, which again i only actually can earn off of via the FR.
i'm just posting all of these thoughts to gather them myself, i'll probably make a post about this soon to hear from others.

You get the FR% in your account as DeSo when someone buys your coin. For NFTs, the 10% in your example goes into your coin price but it is locked so not sellable by anyone. The 5% in your example goes to your account as DeSo. Hope this helps some.

i could sell 0.1 of my coin here and there and take a little money and no one would think rug pull, but it's a finite amount of my coin that i hold- it runs out. i can't take profit i made from selling 0.1 to buy my coin back or i may as well not have sold it. there are no dividends.
the way a long term creator makes money here has nothing to do with the value of the creator coin right? it would be by having a ton of followers where you might possibly make a few dollars per post off of diamonds, or from the FR.
maybe i am missing something here?

i'm just unclear on how you think it really benefits a long term creator to put their FR to 0% for all buyers. say someone bought a ton of my coin when i had it at 0%.
now my coin would be priced even higher yet your argument was about selling something at half price. so will more people still buy?
or did i just lose the potential for people who would have bought it at the lower price even with some FR still enabled?
if i were here looking to cash out eventually, YES, i would ABSOLUTELY put my FR at 0% right now.

It's just supply and demand. If your FR is lower, more will buy, if it is higher, less will buy. I guess they put FR at 0% to get more buyers. They buy their own coin as well but it's just to pump their own coin because selling is a no no. It's not really investing in yourself if you can't ever sell.

alright i discovered a benefit from getting more buyers to help your side of the argument.
having a higher priced coin will make your comments list higher which could mean you will end up receiving more diamonds because you'll be seen more easily in big threads

i think my point is valid, that as a buyer i would also be wary of someone who puts their FR to 0%. maybe people are not considering that. like i said, if i had intentions of cashing out, i would immediately go to 0%.
therefore i see an extra risk to going to 0% as a legit creator

Yep, that's why my coin is so low. I bought some up front but then quickly realized why? When someone buys your coin you get the FR% that's basically it. It doesn't offset the price you paid to buy your coin so I don't see the value of them really. If you sell an NFT, some of that goes into your coin locked so that's cool I guess. I think if you want to see what your true value is, you wouldn't buy any of your own coin and some people have done that strat. That is what I should have done I guess. I'm not sold on the coin idea.

i buy my coin so that if people sell, the value does not radically shift hurting all the other hodlers.
because i believe in myself.
i think the content i can bring to the platform over time is worth a very large investment, ofc anyone able to make a very large investment needs to see more of me to trust that. if and when that happens, especially if i lowered FR for that person, i could discuss with that person the option of me selling any of my coin because maybe i no longer am providing any stability on my own. but i doubt i would want to.

That's very noble and what I did in the beginning. But the reality is, you buy your coin and you can never sell it without being shamed and called a rug puller followed by everyone selling your coin. Even if you sold a small amount on intervals like you said, people would find out. It's all on the chain. Ideally this would be a market just like any other but it is not perceived that way and emotions get in the way when people are coins.

FR 0% = more buyers. More buyers = higher coin price. Higher coin price = perceived popularity. Some people just pump their own coin really high for this reason. Think of it as buying popularity. Look to the right. "Top Creators All Time"
elonmusk is not even here and he is #1. A lot of metrics are based on coin price. You will see lists like "most active creators." Yeah it's the most active that also have the highest coin price. I don't agree with it but that is just the reality.

no assumption, i don't know what would happen. the reason why i said to be wary is because of the listing on coinbase and people having seen the rise and dip and people wanting to get out now but still recoup/profit. with many people having their FR at 0%, anyone with bad intentions can meticulously choose.
if someone wants to buy, message that you are buying some amount where you feel that my current FR would be too much, i am happy to hear it and adjust temporarily if it makes sense for me and my current coinhodlers.
i would do the same for them.

OIC, this goes back to people being coins. If you buy Apple stock and wait for a day and the sell it, nobody says you are malicious. If you do that here, it gets muddy. I've been trading for years so this doesn't bother me. It's normal market moves. You have short term and long term traders, it's a given. Interesting to watch it unfold. The emotions tied to people as coins could kill the whole idea together.
