If money is no issue, I would 1. Book limousine service from Narita then stay at Park Hyatt in Tokyo, in a room with a direct view of Mt Fuji. Order the Caesar’s Salad at New York Grill (it was that good) and while I’m at it, the Kobe beef which I could not afford 2. At Tsukiji Market - Finally buy the $70 Japanese kitchen knife that I saw but still thought about; eat more strawberry mochi, and line up again at the sushi place that served excellent toro that can sit only 13 people at a time 3. If I can get a reservation, eat at Jiro’s - Ginza train station. Definitely have ramen at Ichiran (because we have Ippudo in Manila anyway) 4. Go back to Sendai - for the artisanal fermented soy sauce I brought home and it is the best soy sauce EVER. My travel buddy gifted her friend who happens to be the chef at Uni (my favorite restaurant in Boston) 5. Visit Kyoto and stay there for a month 😆 6. Buy at least 2 bottles of Yamazaki 18 - one for me and one for sharing Shall I keep going? 🤣 I LOVE JAPAN ❤️

quite an interesting list. what stands out is "if money is no issue" you would literally do things you've already done... plus a few things that will lead to the same situation. Once you've experienced the limo ride and room stay, they'll be over and you might wish to do them again... What's left? a purchase of Kobe beef... do it! plus a one time purchase of a $70 knife... but those are made to be used, so you'd need smt to cut into. - seems like a life well lived, so congrats and I hope others can achieve what you have

Yes! Because my Japan experience was amazing, but it was a school trip so not exactly the time to take a limo and go off into the sunset 😆 I have not been to Kyoto - that’s in the bucket list. Definitely doing it when I get back, hopefully with some substantial $clout to finance it I cook a lot, so when I got home I was like damn, shoulda bought the knife. A Shun Premier knife if bought online would set me back $200. Lesson learned: when traveling, do not hesitate when shopping for local products Yeah I have been fortunate, and very grateful I got to travel the world before the pandemic struck. 🙏
