Wondering how the decision to ban a user on a truly decentralized social media platform would work? Would the collective members vote and a certain percentage would trigger the ban? I can see that being abused by bots. I see no other option but to ignore and block a user that I don’t want to see or be bothered by. Does blocking a user mean they can’t message you? we don't have a truly decentralized social media platform yet. but, even if we did, they who control the node still make the decision. if the node wants to be run as a DAO, or some type of collective with voting powers, that's kinda up to them. the node could simply make the call. decentralized doesn't mean no one is in control or that everyone is in control, a node always has sole control over their node. a blockchain-wide ban would be something requiring consensus from all nodes, but i don't know that anything is set up in that regard here on deso.
