so you are 100% the full owner, only your site has the whole thing. you can delete it. comments, likes, diamonds are shown on your site+on-chain cuz the postHashHex will be "hardcoded" to the blog post.
blogger can choose to put more of the post on-chain ofc, regardless content is posted to their site first.
feels like this is the b-chain hack for content creators.

Interesting idea. So the purpose of this is just the ability to edit/ delete content because it’s not on chain? Just a thought tho— even things not on chain can “live forever” all it takes is a screenshot

so, it's .. multi-pronged. by keeping the content hosted on your own site in its fullest form, you become the main source in google's eyes (i forget the term they use), so as long as you're doing everything else right, that should benefit your placement in rankings especially over time with more and more original content.
it also lets you edit/delete the full source of the data, while only having as much as you choose on-chain with a pointer to your text. this is like one of those arguments people have about social stuff on blockchains- when they're coming from other b-chains that aren't optimized for social media, i think- we have images and videos as pointers off-chain, and some people say the same could be done with the body text. i think there's a thing @nader wrote about this, i want to say the problem with that ends up being the lack of any ability to search/etc the content with no outside intervention (storing it in a db first).
but so this would be a merging of the two ideas, and really makes it like a spectrum. you could put title and first 20 characters of the text, you could put all of the text, you could include the image or not include it, etc. really this is all about control.
(and yes of course people could save your post, i'm personally not that concerned, but i DO like that this gives creators more tools, and all of these scenarios will be described to people using it in docs/etc - cause there's also archive.org which could snag a copy too)
at least one other benefit to me is that if you're running your own blog, you do probably want to drive traffic to your site. whether it's for ads, or to promote other things you do/make. so even if you did include your full text on chain, it will automatically put the link to your blog post in the body text. i think having the first ~500 characters with a link would be perfectly fine because at diamondApp now, if your text exceeds that roughly, it creates the Read More link which is itself requiring a new page load.
really it's what i had said in the middle there, that it gives more control to the creator. no problem just cross-posting the same thing to your blog and on-chain. (i also think by posting it on your own blog first, you should be able to claim ownership of the content if it appears somewhere you don't want it to appear - within reason ofc, just any node showing it is expected and fine and it would be unreasonable to have a problem there- but when you file a DMCA report, you have to include the original page, and having that on your own site - and especially if you've got more of the content there than appears on-chain, and your content is showing up somewhere else, i think you're clearly the owner in that case)
i feel like this platform was pitched to me at first as being a very pro-creator environment, and it hasn't turned out that way, so this is my way of helping to create something that can help with that somewhat. there's more to this project than just the blogging though! basically anyone with a deso profile could come to the project page, click a button, and they'll have a site that has deso integration and no need to worry about a blog, they can just create a more complete personal profile page with a few custom-chosen pieces of content shown along with all their links - and immediately with an ability to be receiving diamonds from your own page. and you don't NEED a custom domain, though it'd be ideal, but these sites will host and operate totally without cost since that's the magic of netlify and these 11ty jamstackin' sites.

This is definitely interesting with respect to comments being on one's site and the blockchain.
I have done this a few times (posted articles on CloutPub or Medium and created a shorter DeSo post with a link to the article) but the feedback that I got is that those that like my long, wordy posts prefer to read them in their entirely on chain rather than be re-directed elsewhere.
That doesn't mean I need to do it that way all the time but since the majority of my posts are about DeSo, I don't mind that they are on chain. To the extent I start posting different types of content, perhaps business related, that might be content I'd want to control myself so I might consider it changing things up.

it'll seem like your post is on-chain, because comments left when reading the full-length post will appear on-chain. you'd control just how much of your post goes on-chain, you could have all of it.
one idea would be to strike the right balance, getting people to come read it on your site, where you feature ads for your other content (or, just ads) - so even if you lose a certain % of readers, the ones that do come, might benefit you more.
it's less about on vs off chain and just directing traffic to help you.
with other benefits too. but trade-offs

Lots of +s from a creator's perspective. You have control of your content to edit, remove, control where it is displayed. You get easy access to monetization through diamonds, both on your site and on DeSo nodes, but also can monetize through ads. Your site is your brand/home of your content, not your DeSo account. But you also have the flexibility to make DeSo the home of your content if you want to publish it all, while still creating awareness for your site. Site owners will want a way to remove spammy comments. I agree with @Sandirose...

that there is a drawback for DeSo users in that it requires a click to read more. Seems trivial, but people prefer to remain on one site. That's why Facebook started offering the ability to read the whole article on FB. This is good for FB users, and ofc FB, but publishers hate it because they lose traffic to their site and lose control of their content.

and yeah of course, you may not want to only include partial text. but even if you ended up with 33% of the same amount of viewers for your full content, it's up to you to see if you're benefitting more with that subset of readers going to your own website with your own advertising/promos there. it's just giving people the ability to experiment and find out what works best for them.

Sounds useful, but I'd prefer a WordPress to DeSo plug-in since that would benefit from the 1000s of other plugins that can also be installed to the site.

so, this is more where i think wordpress is headed. these jamstack sites are blazing fast, compared to a wordpress where you've got so much overhead and your front and back-ends are just super glued together
right now there's about 500 11ty devs, but i think it will grow. maybe not 11ty specifically, but there are a number of other similar ways to do sites like this. (and someone should tackle one of those, too!)
but yes wordpress would also be great, i'm just not a fan myself so i don't wanna do it lol :)

I was never a fan either until they started having frontend editing and full site editing with full drag and drop no code designing.
Now I'm impressed.
